‘Looking Good, Stratum Summit!
Building from the success of our inaugural Summit, Stratum Med was proud to host its second Independent Medical Group Summit this year at the Ritz Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas Resort in Irving, TX from Thursday, April 9th through Friday, April 10th.
This year’s Summit was larger than last year’s, hosting eighty-three administrators and physician leaders from twenty-nine physician-owned groups, which included many guests and new faces. But while this event continues to grow, the focus of the Summit has remained the same: collaboration for groups within our niche. With this priority as our guiding star, the Summit’s format balanced expert-led presentation with open forum and panel discussion to foster collaboration where medical group leaders could share their challenges, successes, and solutions. This is the Summit’s greatest strength.
On Thursday morning, Trent Kramer, Stratum Med President and CEO, and Ben Vallier, CEO of The Iowa Clinic and Stratum Med’s Board Chair, welcomed attendees to the Summit. Mr. Vallier noted that while everyone in the room shared challenges unique to larger independent medical groups, the two days of sharing strategy and intellectual resources would strengthen each group to find solutions for success. This year, the Summit welcomed four industry leaders to present in general session. From creating a positive clinical climate that betters patient experience to the new frontier of AI-driven technology, these general sessions sparked new ideas and innovation for our leaders to incorporate within their own groups. In response to popular demand, this Summit offered more breakout sessions to allow for deeper dives into focused topics. These sessions are a highlight because the smaller group setting allows for collaborative energy and creative solution. The Summit closed with a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Andrew Perry, CEO of McFarland Clinic. After two days of rich content, this session was the perfect culmination of the Summit’s shared-learning.

Beyond the formal sessions, attendees had ample time to network and unwind at the Summit’s social opportunities. Meals and breaks were humming with lively discussion, allowing attendees to develop relationships with like-minded colleagues in their field. On Thursday evening, Stratum hosted a cocktail hour before breaking off to four smaller dinner parties, off-site. These dinners provided the perfect opportunity to build strong professional relationships, unwind together, and forge new friendships.
We were excited to see that this year’s Summit was another success. Said one attendee, “last year was very, very good and [Stratum Med] took it up another notch this year – a great event.” Feedback was positive, with attendees sharing their enthusiasm for both this event, and future Summits. We would like to thank our Board Members, members of the steering committee, each attendee, and the incredible staff at the Ritz Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas Resort for making this incredible event the success that it was. Next year’s Summit is planned for April 9 – 10, 2026, again at the Ritz-Carlton Dallas. We hope to see you there!
