Stratum Med Welcomes Anastasia Bakhareva
Interview by: Anne Potter
To meet the growing demand for our Data Services, Stratum Med recently hired Anastasia Bakhareva as our new Senior Data Solutions Architect. Anastasia, or “Nastia,” will be working remotely from her home in Tennessee and we are thrilled to have on our team. I asked Anastasia to tell us a little bit about herself . . .
AP: So, Nastia, tell me: where are you from?
AB: I grew up in Russia. I lived in Michigan for 20 years before moving to Tennessee.
AP: And where did you go to school?
AB: I have a master’s in economics and civil engineering management from Russia and an MBA from MTSU, and Business Intelligence education that propelled my current work.
AP: That’s impressive! So, what is your professional background – what’s informed your current work?
AB: For the last 16 years I have been working in healthcare, but I also have experience in the Automotive industry, and the banking side of equipment leasing. In every role I ended up working on databases and streamlined reporting and business processes, which brought me to my work in healthcare.
AP: What project are you most proud of?
AB: That’s a difficult question to answer because I have done many projects where I have made complicated things simpler, including providing easy access to data for decision making, figuring out obscure data problems, or unique process improvements through data movement and access that dramatically improved operations.
AP: OK, maybe this one’s easier: what’s on the horizon that you’re most excited about?
AB: I like relative simplicity and reliability, and I am looking forward to making this happen with data in my current role.
AP: You’re one of Stratum’s remote workers. Working from home – what does that look like?
AB: My work is creative, working from home gives me an opportunity to act quicker upon ideas or thoughts I have for my work without constraining me to certain hours. If I need an idea to form, I have a chance to step away without having to stress about getting to and from the office.
AP: When do you find that you do your best work?
AB: It varies. If I have thoughts after waking up – I can start working right after getting up or if I have a clear plan of what I need to implement, I can work on implementation well into the very end of waking hours almost without getting up from my desk which is not a good thing to keep doing.
AP: Last question. What do you like to do in your free time?
AB: I like many things. I have competed in weightlifting (not to be confused with powerlifting), I like home improvement projects, I am learning figure skating, and I have a lot of education in holistic health.
AP: Oh cool, what varied interests, Nastia! I’m not surprised – it sounds like you have an especially creative approach to data architecture. Thank you so much for taking the time to introduce yourself. All of us at Stratum are so excited to have you on our team!
